Belov Engenharia S.A. began 2026 with a significant milestone in its trajectory within the port, underwater, survey, and offshore engineering sectors: the signing of a contract for the permanent abandonment of offshore wells and the complete decommissioning of jackets in the Itaparica Field, located in the Baía de Todos os Santos.
Formalized in 2026, the project will be executed by the Belov-Braserv consortium. It encompasses six wells and includes structural rehabilitation (where applicable), permanent abandonment, seabed leveling (arrasamento), removal of lines and metallic scrap, and the full decommissioning of the jackets. This high-complexity operational package requires the seamless integration of engineering, shallow-water diving, surveying, subsea operations, maritime logistics, and environmental management.
The contract term is 360 calendar days, with mobilization scheduled to take place within 180 days. As the region is situated within the Bay's Environmental Protection Area (APA), the project demands rigorous adherence to environmental requirements. The Belov Group, acting as the consortium leader, takes another vital step in the segment by delivering integrated, safe, and sustainable solutions for offshore operations.
The Belov Group has proven experience in decommissioning projects, including the dismantling of two vessels—which were converted into two barges and a dredge, with the surplus steel sent for recycling—and the decommissioning of all beacons in the access channel to TEMADRE (in Madre de Deus, Bahia).
