The Belov Group has signed a contract for the construction of four azimuth maritime and port support tugboats for SAAM Towage Brasil. The vessels will feature 70 tons of bollard pull and have a delivery timeline of 20 months.
The new tugboats will be designed to meet SAAM's operational demands, combining robustness, high performance, and efficiency. The vessels will also include features focused on safety and functionality, such as external firefighting capability, FiFi 1 certification, and a bridge with an optimized design to enhance visibility during operations.
The contract signing marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between the Belov Group and SAAM Towage Brasil, aligning with the company's fleet expansion plan heading toward 2030. For the Belov Group, the project reinforces the company's current momentum of growth in the naval market and highlights its capacity to meet highly demanding technical requirements.
This advancement is the result of recent investments made by the shipyard in expansion, modernization, and technology. Among the initiatives are the expansion of its industrial structure and the modernization of its manufacturing facility—moves that strengthen Belov's productive capacity and allow for the development of increasingly complex projects.
In parallel, the Belov Group has also commenced the construction of a new DSV-type vessel, featuring advanced technology, waterjet propulsion, a DP2 system, and diesel-electric motorization. The vessel will be dedicated to fulfilling a contract signed with Petrobras, reinforcing the company's footprint in highly complex operations within the offshore sector.
With these new projects, the Belov Group consolidates its presence as a major player in the Brazilian naval market, combining engineering, industrial capacity, and operational experience to meet the demands of large corporations in the maritime, port, and offshore sectors.
