"Blue November" is the global health campaign addressing the fight against Prostate Cancer, and it was inspired by "Pink October". Focusing on men's health, the initiative was adopted in Brazil starting in 2008 and has been a great ally in transforming and reducing the myths surrounding the disease.
Prostate Cancer is the second type of cancer that kills the most men in Brazil, especially those aged 60 and over. The campaign emphasizes that men who have a family history of the disease need to pay attention earlier to the possibility of developing the condition, as do those who are overweight, have some type of obesity or other illnesses that may favor the onset of Prostate Cancer, and the Afro-descendant population, where the highest incidence of cases is found.
In Brazil, the campaign has also drawn attention to other aspects, such as the quality of men's intimate hygiene, which is related to cases of another type of cancer, penile cancer, which when left untreated can lead to amputation. Therefore, "Blue November" has played an important educational and cultural role in various settings, including the job market, to foster clear and objective dialogue, and disseminate updated information on prevention, symptoms, and treatments.
Throughout the month of November, Grupo Belov supported the cause through lectures for the work teams, sharing updated information based on official authorities on the subject and helping to clarify doubts. The initiatives were carried out with talks led by health specialists, visual communication dedicated to the theme, and the sharing of articles, manuals, and diversified publications developed by the Ministry of Health.
