In early 2026, the Belov Group concluded a two-year training cycle for dive techs—essential professionals for the dynamics of diving systems and offshore support vessel operations. This process is part of the corporation's ongoing investment in talent and technology.
The safety and efficiency of diving operations at the Belov Group begin with equipment reliability. The systems used in diving operations are constantly exposed to severe weather and operational conditions, requiring proper installation, rigorous inspections, frequent testing, and a structured maintenance plan.
In January 2024, the offshore dive tech role was implemented, launching a structured specialized technical training process integrated into the diving teams. The program includes 12 technical training modules, such as:
- Hyperbaric chamber maintenance;
- Calibration of pressure gauges and safety valves;
- Instrumentation;
- Low and high-pressure compressors;
- Maintenance of diving helmets and masks;
- Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Selection and Training Process
Candidates are initially selected through a theoretical exam and interview. They then undergo practical on-board training, followed by internships at the Belov Group's operational base in Guapimirim, RJ. At this stage, learning focuses on instrumentation, mechanics, and electricity. Throughout the process, participants are mentored and trained by senior dive techs from the company's own team, ensuring alignment with the technical and operational standards established by the corporation.
Proven Results
A team of 19 dive techs is already deployed offshore, capable of performing maintenance on all diving subsystems and drafting technical reports on the services executed. The initiative’s results are significant:
- Significant reduction in maintenance response time;
- Decreased waiting time for diving fronts;
- Mitigation of operational downtime, which previously could last up to 3 days and is now rare;
- Increased equipment lifespan;
- Continuous evolution of the teams' technical expertise.
